Departmental Library of Economics

From 14 June 2021, individual workstations will be available to a limited extent. The following rules apply from 14.06.2021 and supplement the rules of the usage regulations until further notice.

  • Library opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.
  • Only two users are allowed to enter the entrance area of the library at the same time. Users have to wear a mouth-and-nose protection upon entering the building, to observe the path regulation and keep a distance and should use the provided hand disinfectant.
  • There are 12 designated individual workstations available. Group workstations are not available. There is no entitlement to use the workstations.
  • The use of the workstations is only possible during opening hours and only for students of Kiel University. Only the marked workstations may be used.  The mouth-nose protection may not be removed at the workstations either! Eating and drinking at the workplaces is therefore not permitted!
  • All applicable hygiene regulations of the state and Kiel University must be observed. Medical masks are compulsory in the entire building.

Procedure on site:

All users of the workstations must register at the circulation desk by presenting their user card. Users take a basket from the "Unused baskets" pile at the entrance and place the work materials they have brought in it. Entering the building without a basket is not permitted. Users will be assigned a free workstation by the staff. When leaving the building, users must state the workstation number and add the time of leaving the building on the form. The baskets must be returned each time the user leaves the building and the workstation must be left empty and clean. The allocation of the workspace will be forfeited.
