How to to get to Kiel University?
If you arrive via the "Autobahn" from Hamburg, follow the signposting to Kiel University ("Universität"). You have to take the B76 in northward direction until the exit "Universität". Then follow the "Westring" until the crossing "Westring/Olshausenstraße" where the high-rise building of the campus is visible.

Getting to Kiel by train |
Train connections and schedules can be found at the information desk of the "Deutsche Bahn". Usually you have to change trains in Hamburg although a few trains a day continue directly to Kiel. The best station for changing trains in Hamburg is Hamburg Central Station ("Hamburg Hauptbahnhof").
The Christian-Albrechts-University is served by the bus lines 61, 62, 81, 82 and 91 (One ticket costs about € 2.30). Another possibility to get to the University is to take a taxi (e.g. "Minicar", whichs costs about € 6).

There are two airports close to Kiel: Hamburg and Lübeck. While Hamburg is a major airport with air connections to most European cities, Lübeck is interesting because Ryanair offers cheap flights, e.g. from/to London (Stanstead), Stockholm (Skavsta), Mailand (Bergamo) und Barcelona (Girona).

Airport Hamburg
Please click here for air connections. There is a convenient shuttle bus from Hamburg airport to Kiel Central Station. It's called "Kielius". runs every hour, takes about 90 min (don't get off at Neumünster). Timetables and more can be found at: www.kielius.de. From Kiel Central Station, the bus lines 61, 62, 81, 82 and 91 drive to the University (One ticket costs about € 2.30). Lübeck is a regional airport (flight schedule). First take the bus to central station and then it's about 80 min to get to Kiel by train .
