General Information
Living in Kiel
The International Center of the University offers dormitory rooms for exchange students.
The rent of the various dormitories is currently 140,00 Euro to 220,00 Euro per month, the
renting periods are currently at least six month and the renting contracts have to be signed
for this period. In order to apply for a room in the dormitories please submit the form for
application before the deadline expires and send it via mail or fax to the International Center
(the form is available on their homepage). The application deadlines are June 15 th for the
winter term and January 15 th for the summer term. It is very difficult to find rooms on the
private housing market and also often much more expensive than the dormitories.
Courses
Most of the courses in the bachelor program are offered in German language. The economics master programs, economics, quantitative economics and quantitative finance, are exclusively taught in English.
Information about ECTS and about the courses, you get here. But nevertheless it is appropriate to visit German Courses, because the winter term offers Economis Courses in English rarely. Further information about learning German you get at the International Center.
Application
All the appliacation forms for the Erasmus and Socrates Program you get at the International Center under here. If you have any questions not answered by the International Center website the staff will happily assist you. Just write them an email to erasmus-incomings[at]uni-kiel.de.
